เนื้อหาบทเรียน

1. เอกพจน์ (Singular) และพหูพจน์ (Plural)

เอกพจน์ หมายถึง สิ่งของหรือบุคคลที่มีเพียงหนึ่ง เช่น:

a book

an apple

a dog

พหูพจน์ หมายถึง สิ่งของหรือบุคคลที่มีมากกว่าหนึ่ง โดยปกติการเปลี่ยนจากเอกพจน์เป็นพหูพจน์ทำได้ดังนี้:

เติม -s: book → books, apple → apples

เติม -es (คำที่ลงท้ายด้วย -ch, -sh, -s, -x, -z): bus → buses, box → boxes

เปลี่ยนรูป (Irregular nouns): man → men, child → children, mouse → mice

ไม่เปลี่ยนรูป (Same form): sheep → sheep, deer → deer

2. นามนับได้ (Countable Nouns) และนามนับไม่ได้ (Uncountable Nouns)

นามนับได้ (Countable Nouns):

นามที่สามารถนับจำนวนได้ มีรูปเอกพจน์และพหูพจน์

ตัวอย่าง: chair, car, pen

การใช้:

เอกพจน์: a chair, one chair

พหูพจน์: two chairs, many chairs

นามนับไม่ได้ (Uncountable Nouns):

นามที่ไม่สามารถนับเป็นจำนวนได้ มักใช้กับสิ่งที่เป็นของเหลว ผง หรือสิ่งที่ไม่มีขอบเขต
